Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.
Stock team volunteers
Are you available Mondays 0930-1230? Are you able to lift boxes of tinned food? If so we would love you to join our stock team, sorting donations and refilling our stock room. Manual handling training will be provided.
Grants liaison volunteer
Do you have experience in applying for grants for charitable organisations? Could you spare a few hours every now and again to apply for grants on behalf of the foodbank? If so then we need you!
Several times a year we collect donations at local supermarkets. We chat to shoppers about the foodbank and what we currently need, as well as collecting in donations and boxing them up ready for the stock team. Can you help us do this?
If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
