New Mayor of Littlehampton chooses the foodbank as his mayoral charity

The new Mayor of Littlehampton, Councillor Alan Butcher, has announced that Littlehampton & District Foodbank is his mayoral charity for the year he holds the post. Sharing the news in a Facebook video he declared “It is an honour to announce that my mayoral charity will be the Littlehampton and District Foodbank. They are rooted in our community, providing a vital service to people who absolutely need it. They bring an empathetic and humanising approach to everything they do.”

Sam Gouldson, one of the foodbank’s two managers, shared the video on the foodbank’s own Facebook page, saying “We’re honoured to share that Alan Butcher, the new Mayor of Littlehampton, has chosen us to be his mayoral charity. We’re truly excited to work with him throughout his term as Mayor, and look forward to welcoming him to the foodbank”.
